What do files w/ extension ".err" mean?

Can someone please tell me the significance of files w/ extension ".err". I see no ill side affects when machining but evertime I produce g-code (nc files) from mastercam this file is generated also.

    Thanks...Norman

    Everytime?

.err is an error file, as in something is wrong. Usually something with your post or the way a toolpath took place. Open it up the .err file and read it. It usually will give you the 'error message' of what went wrong.
It's just a part..... cutter still goes round and round....
