So I hate to ask for help..I really try to figure stuff out on my own. Anyway some info. Running X3 I normally do 2d designs and such. This is the first part that I have a 3d solid model for. ![]() First op: It is laying flat and doing the top face, drill holes, outside profile, lower step. Second op: it is set at a angle and faces the angle and drills the ball endmill indents. I can not get it to chain the pocket so i can cut it. I get a boundary does not lie in construction plane message. I cant figure it out. I'm still fairly new with mastercam. The model i designed in ironcad while in class at school. I can email a file to someone if any body is willing to take a look. Thanks

| Make sure that your wcs planes are "true" to the pocket (as in - the pocket chain is actually at a constant -Z- depth)...otherwise you have to use 3D when you are chaining it, and the -z- will follow accordingly. If you analyze the pocket chain and the Z is the same at every point, then something else is amiss... If you want to PM me and send over the file I can take a look for you.
