Why cant I machine this?

Hi again all I hope some one will help me (again) I have a problem.

I am trying to machine this part

As you can see from the picture I am able to machine the parts with the blue tool path lines on it using the pocket tool path and it comes out ok but I all so want to machine the part highlighted in white and every time I select the face/line etc etc it says out of work plane.

Should I be using a different tool path for this profile as I am able to machine the other parts on the same plane so why not this part of the profile.

Thanks

EDIT

This is the error

USE SURFACE FINISH CONTOUR, PICKING THE WHITE SURFACE A DRIVE AND THE GREEN AS CHECK WORKS BEST WITH A BULL NOSE CUTTER, CAN ASLO USE PARALLEL DEPENDING ON THE SIZE AND AMOUNT OF STOCK TO BE REMOVED, IF YOUR PART IS LARGE AND YOU HAVE ALOT OF STOCK DRAW A BOUNDRY AROUND DETAIL AND USE SURFACE ROUGH POCKET.

Hi and thanks for the reply.

If I choose the part highlighted in white as the drive surface it the selects the whole model as its all one part.

Do I need to separate the model to give me separate parts?.

Thanks

Dont forget you will need to select a ball endmill with the rad. you have available , or one with radius'ed edge in order to surface, a flat sharp endmill will not surface properly but it will show it.
then you need to also pick your step over depending on what finish you want. if you want a 125 finish or better I am guessing your step over will be .005 with a 1/8 ball endmill.

Well using surface finish tool path/contour with a 1/32 ball end mill I get this

I don`t get this I still haven't exploded the solid so to speak because I cant find that option so this may help with a few issues when I do.

All so as you can see it does not do any thing to the other half circle profile it stays at the highest Z depth of the first large half circle

I have tryed to adjust the step over, transition etc with same results.

Try to translate your part down a half inch in Z and see what that does.
It looks like to me your part is too high in Z... AKA top of part Not at Z zero.
If that works find the exact height of the area you want to machine and make that the top of part.

Good Luck~!

Hi there I have done that and it made no difference.

I all so moved the origin lower down still same results.

I then used the surface finish parallel adjusted the step down to 0.001" and step over to the same and now get this

So I am getting there

IF YOUR USING A SOLID IN MASTERCAM X YOU NEED TO CHECK THE BOXES ON THE TOOL BAR FOR FACES AND UN-CHECK THE SOLID PICK BOX, ITS UP NEXT TO THE GREEN BALL. IF YOU STILL HAVING A PROBLEM SAVE IT AS AN IGES FILE AND REOPEN IT THAT WILL BRING SURFACES. SHOULD BE PRETTY BASIC CUTTING

Did you find the solid Face option when doing the path?
