So, I've been using X5 on a laptop to make sure all of the bugs are worked out before installing and using it on our main PC. Today, I decided to make the switch permanent and get away from X4, so I installed X5 on the main PC and wrote a first program using it. I should have looked at the code closer before sending it to the floor, but my operator caught it so it wasn't a big problem. All of the final Z Depths were set to incremental. Why would a fresh install do that? Anyway, I changed them in the defaults, but it makes me wonder what else I could run into. I've installed MC about a dozen times at a few different companies and never had an issue like that before. Has anyone ever has that happen before? ______________ http://www.rosettastonediscount4u.com/ |

| Many would use the selected geometry to control the depth. If you move the part and all the geometry, or adjust the WCS origin, then the toolpaths would still be OK----as long as they were in incremental You can set the defaults to absolute, but that is your choice, and it may suit your programming style ( I guessing here ) I also think that the new install does not look at the last versions defaults, and won't carry them across to the new install |
