When you purchased mastercam, they probably gave you a couple of training days for free, so just use those first...![]()
Hi,
I am new to Mastercam and would like some help please.
I have some parts drawn up and saved in IGS format.
I have mastercam X4 and I have a HAAS VF-2 VMC.
Please can someone give me some walk through steps on the best way to create my programs or if anyone could easily create the programs from my IGS files so that i can then look at how they are done and work backwards.
Thanks a lot
Luke

It's going to take some time to learn Mastercam, there are plenty of good programmers on this forum who will help with your questions.
Click on the link below and check out the sample video page for some programming examples
Mastercam Training Online
If you just purchased it, then take advantage of the classes. They will get you up to speed faster than trying to have us program it for you then have you try to see what we did.
Actually...there are plenty of sample files that come with mastercam that will allow you to do that, so that is another good start.
Buy the books also, do the examples, it is a really powerful and excellent program.
Did you just get the program?
Have you done any Cam before? Cad - I assume?
