I am assuming you are talking about cycle time and how or where to set it? Most cad cam softwares have info for the specific machine you are running. you put in the rapid speeds size of table, distance to spindle tool change time etc etc etc. its usually in the post. I dont know if mastercam will do that or not as I havent gotten to that spot yet. then they will also have a factor % this is to adjust the percentage that you may be off. Surfaces are pretty easy to be spot on as its nothing but lines and feeds, the problem most softwares have is canned cycles they are usually 50% too fast and with a ton of peck drilled holes they can be off alot.

the post logic to output the toolpath cycle time to the nc file. so you can look at the time you have left in the day and see if you have enough time to run that part of your program. |

That should be possible, Like I said I dont know how to do it in mastercam never played with posts yet, however you should be able to get a time for each tool after each tool by putting in the proper cycle time call out/code after each tool and mayba a math function/phrase in there. I know in smart cam it should be possible, due to the functions they have in making the post. so I would assume it would be possible for mastercam. superman would probally know forsure or your haas dealer.

Not sure about outputting to the actual NC file but with a little playing around, it should be simple for the setup sheet to output, when you do a printout of the toollist. You have some sort of time value when you select the operation listing ( I'm thinking of the older style setup sheets )

Right click in the operation manager select the "Setup Sheet", it will take you into either "active sheets" or the "mill.set" type of dialog for creating documents to report on tools used or operational data operations area is what should give a time estimate per op and per cycle
