Mastercam won't Load Up

Hi there,

I'm studying at my local Polytechnic at the moment and I've been running the X4 HLE for about 6 months to do assignments and practice. I've got a final assignment due in 2 weeks and when I booted X4 up yesterday the big X4 logo flashes for about half a second and then nothing.

I thought it might have been the HLE license had run out and it may well have but the readme file with the HLE says it will expire after 6 months after which time you may choose to reinstall it. So I reinstalled it and exactly the same thing it just flashes and doesn't load the main problem. I'm rather confused why it would just stop working when it has previously run so well.

I dont think the HLE expires. Is you PC set for automatic Windows updates? Or did you recently update or install something?

Did you completely uninstall and reinstall it?

Just wait until you get into the field and your income depends on the software. Take this as early warning.

Hi Mike,

I choose what updates are installed and I haven't done any for a while. I did think about that and I'm guessing its something to do with my machine. I installed Solidworks 2011 Student Edition not long ago so could that be messing with mastercam?
