I am decent with mastercam milling and turning but wire is all new to me. I have been to Mastercam training for wire which seems pretty simple. We had a guy that knew all this but he has moved on. My problem is I have very little floor knowledge so I am kind of lost with power settings. It seems I need to call a Power setting page in the program then at the machine set up all the power settings? We do a lot of repeat work so we have setting for all that but I need to do something we have not done before. I do need a long term solution (I guess training from Fanuc) but for now I could use any advice on how to cut 4-3/8” thick arc with a 1deg taper in harden steel. It is a clearance cut so finish is not critical. This is a one time cut so I am not worried about speed or any advanced cutting. Amount of passes? Power settings? Speed? I am not even sure what questions I should be asking. Machine: Fanuc Robocut: Alpha OIC with .01 wire. Thanks in advance. |

| On our Robo, all the power, speed etc are controlled at the machine you do not need to output anything other that the code that calls up that setting I think the post is usually set to output an S101 on default ( I'm going back to a V9 era BTW ) but you can alter this in the cut parameter page ( of the operation in the op manager ). We use S1 as it is the 1st line on the setting page, and easy to get to. Should be able to do it in 1 pass if size and finish is not critical Out wire operator asks to program at 0° and he puts in the code to do the draft. You won't see the thread and cut points on the screen until you backplot, ust make sure you give a little more lead in /out for the darft to take up |

| Go to your A.I. set screen (artificial intelligence). The fill in the wire diameter, thickness of material and what the material is from the choices. you can use the arrow keys to select the number of passes that you want. Once you put in the thickness of the part. press the register soft key button and it will come up with the registers you need. To see the registers that it is going to use. Go to Menu, punch in 11, then page down. It will take you to the registers where you can tweak the settings if you want to. |
