I am using Mastercam X3, just installed and something is very wrong. If in mastercam I instruct to mill 1" in the -X direction, the NC instructs to mill 1" in the +Y direction, and instead of 1" in the -Y, NC instructs 1" in the +X! BUT the drill works exactly as it should. Backplot works fine. Verify works fine. I change the machine and post processor with the same screwed up result. I'm hopelessly lost. Please help!! |

| Wow - that would keep things exciting out on the shop floor!!! I've never heard of that one...so my first suggestion is you go the the gurus over at emastercam. I'd say it has something to do with your post not being the right one...but it could be a combination of your WCS and post not working together. Make sure all your toolpaths are using the correct WCS, and try it again...if not... My guess is you'll get a pretty quick solution there.

| I think I might have found the problem. Get this. I created the part in Inventor and imported it into Mastercam. I found the UCS in Inventor went one direction while the the 3d Axis in Mastercam was set different. The milling went with the Mastercam axis while the drill went with the Inventor axis! The solution is to align the Inventor part to the same orientation and 0,0,0 as the mastercam axis so the milling and drilling coincide. Go figure. |

| That seems scary. I would think that if your WCS (in mcam) is the same for both toolpaths...then it should go the same direction for both... Since mastercam uses it's own wcs, this seems seriously wrong....keep us posted, though.
