| HA: We have two Monarch VMC150 that are run by a GE 1050 controler these machines were made in 1980 but nothing on the market today will out power them. We have post for them but they are not perfict yet, but if someone has one that they think is good we would love to try it. we have problems when it comes to helical z moves where you have to use radins for your z distance . |

| Geez Louise, my 1st controller from 1983. Brings back fond memories. *sniff* If I remember correctly, it only uses linear Z values for helical moves, like most FANUC compatable controls. Also, it will only accept the LAST axis letter per line. Meaning, no more than 1 N, G, X, Y, Z, M, etc. per line. Check your post output for multiple axis codes per line. Does your control have the 8 line neon dot-matrix display or the single line display?

| ObrinenDave: thanks yes it is an 8 line control that moves the op. line to the top at all times. they are strong machines and work great with big cutters you don't have to run very fast 3500 max rpm. when we are asking it to run in g18 g19 mode you have to write z in radins so the control can get it's speed correc t for the diff axis's |

| Not 100% sure I follow you. Are you using an R word for defining a G18 and G19 arc? I remember using a signed incremental value for the arc center point. Can you post a little bit of the arc code along with the appropriate G18 and G19 so I can have a look at it? It's been 10 years since I used that control. Does your control have the subroutine option with parameter programming? How much memory do you have? Mine had 32K.

| Radians for the arc? I dont ever remember seeing that one on the 550 or 1050's. I remember having to calculate a Vector to activate cutter comp. That was a major PIA. I'd also like to see some code. Are you running off of tape? Mike Mattera

| Mike Mattera we are using a btr to run to the memery. or drip feed if we have to because of size. Radians for the arc yes but only in z axis so the two axis start and finish at the same time we use a K for the radian of the arc. the machine will set the speed of z to make everything happen. thanks |
