Problem- Upgrade problem.

I have voiced my concern with Mastercam upgrade problems on Emastercam but no help there. They did call me names though...

I have lathe mill and wire X2 on one hasp. I want to upgrade mill but not lathe and wire. There have been no upgrades in those since Version9. I am being told I can't upgrade only mill if I want to keep using the old lathe and wire. Or I can pay to unbundle them. I don't want more seats. I just want to pay maintenance on mill only. Any dealer advise?

I didn't knowing was all or nothing when I purchased them this way.

I certainly understand your concern, John, however, they discount the software for bundled packages, therefore the single key covers one program with whatever was purchased to go along with the seat.

I don't think the software would be able to "jump" from say...X4MU3 mill level 3 to X2 lathe.

My guess is that they are charging you to separate the keys in their mind allows you to be 2 people programming now instead of one...and it is a little (probably not much) work on their end to get you 2 new keys for your old one.

As far as the name calling at emastercam...They have always been one of the most professional groups I've seen on a forum...so maybe someone was having a bad day and wrongly took it out on you.
