    Solid Chamfer question..

So I created a tube in solid then extruded my bolt hole patterns thru. Using X4 I havent been able to create a chamfer on the bolt holes. Is this because they are not on a flat surface or is there a correct way to do this?

Hi, I think the chamfer command does not support this type of surfaces but you don't need to model the chamfers. You can machine them anyway using 3D Chamfer in a contour toolpath.

The 2D chamfer in the TOP bars is for wireframe geometry
use the solid chamfer in the LH sidebar,
    >> pick fillet or chamfer,
    >> then, 1 distance /angle ----to chamfer at a set angle for a set distance, or, 2 distance for a deburr( not necessarily a 45°)
----select the picking method ( edge, face, solid ) ( edges for individual joins, faces having many joins having the same fillet or chamfer----it does the edges of the face as well, or, solid for every juncture that is smaller that the setting that is applied ), you may have to select which face the angle is to be measured from, or " From Other Face", when in-between picks.

    >>don't forget to accept ( big green dot ) to let it execute the command. Everyone forgets this one

    PS
Always work from the largest fillet/chamfer going to the smallest

Another trick is to do 1 fillet or chamfer to see if it can be done and what it looks like, then go into the solids manager to add more geometry to that feature, then re-gen the solid ( good to know, if you are having trouble in certain areas )
