How to get access to the multiaxis toolpaths in X4?

    So,

Ive been fooling around with Mastercam X4 for SW at school these days, and looking to learn a bit on my own. However, I can't seem to get the multiaxis menu up anywhere, so I can't do any multiaxis milling.

I've selected a generic 4 axis mill, and made sure the A-axis is setup.

So, If I right-click in the toolpaths tab, and choose IMPORT, I can see all the multiaxis options down in the bottom, theres no toolpaths to choose from.

And in the default settings-settings for the mill I've chosen, all the multiaxis toolpaths are there, and I'm able to change their respective default settings.

    Can someone help me?

Thanks a lot for any and all help

Go to START MENU >> All Programs >> Mastercam X4 >> Mastercam Launcher

This will open a Dialog box showing what you are capable off doing, including
What level of Mastercam you are running and if Multiaxis is "Enabled"

You have buy that option, can't turn on by setting.
The best way to learn is trial error.

Im certain that the school has this option in the licence. We do have a few 4 and 5-axis cncs. However, Superman, I cant find any launcher on my version. Theres hardly any exe's in the installtion folder at all.

    Thanks for your help anyways

    I just followed your proceedure.

Not the right way to select a strategy
IMPORT will bring in an operation that has been done in another session...this method opens the default file that is sort of pre-set and then you apply geometry and adjust settings to be able to get a path...it does not mean you don't have it ....it (the default strategy) is just not saved in this area

Try using the "Mill Toolpaths" at the top instead of IMPORT....you can also use the "Toolpaths" pulldown menu on top of your main screen...these ones should have all that are possible

Thanks for your input! Yes, of course I've checked the toolpath-pulldown, etc, where I find all the 2d-toolpaths, but no 4 or 5-axis functions. The reason I told you about the import-stuff, was to show that the functions are there, but just not within reach!

    Really annoying!
