    Changing File Names

    Hi,

When you make an operation in Mastercam, the tile of the file is included in the text of that operation. Sometimes I want to just use the same file for another similar job, and I just change the file name to the new job number and alter the operations. However, the original file name is what posts out and the text in the operations does not change from the origianal file name. Is there is a way to alter the text that show the file name in each operation so that it is the same as the new name I changed the file to?

    Thank you,

    Guy

I believe the issue you are having is the nci name. When you copy operations or file/save as and rename the file you also need to rename the nci name as well. if you right click on the operation there should be a rename nci, I belive, I will have to check at work tomorrow.

Under Settings, Configuration =>Toolpath Manager , there are some settings to change the toolpath names, group names & nc file names...might look there to see if you can get it the way you want...
