Need Help!- Mastercam V.8 to my X4

Hi there all can anyone show me a way forward in getting comms between my
laptop with Mastercam V.8.1.1 and My New X4

X4 ...being Mastercam X4 ?
and is this installed on a different PC ?
If you want PC and Laptop to talk, it is a windows network and shared folders that are required

If you want to open .MC8 files in X4
> File open
> Open the "Files of Type" pull down, and select the extension filter ( upper ones are mastercam formats, lower are possible convertors )
> Then use the "Look in" to navigate to your file location, be it a floppy, USB, or even a network drive
> ( double-click ) or Accept the selection

So the issue is that your laptop does not have a COM port and you need a USB communication system to send programs to your CNC machine... Is that correct ?

Hi there I'm starting to get my head around the requirements to run this Mastercam on my Syil X4 milling m/c, Thanks to all replies I shall continue in SYIL forum
