| I am not aware of any freebies. The Mastercam Book by Lin and Shiu is about $80 and generally the most cost-effective learning tool. You should also look into courses at your local tech school. But ask some tough questions before enrolling. Many tech schools, particularly here in GA, use the machine tool programs as eye candy for politicians. You may find the instructor knows less about Mastercam or even machining than you do. There are exceptions, of course, and some have excellent programs. Doug |

| Doug, We have the same problem here in Tennessee. I recently interviewed a local State Voc-Tech school's so called prodigy child in lathe programming. What a embarrasment for the educational system. This young man has paid his money for training that he has never recived. The problem is so bad up here, I wish I had the resources to start a school, and produce some machinists. Dalen |

| Free mastercam help is rare. I don't blame Mastercam or any other software company for this as everyone knows that pirate copies are around. If you are a genuine customer and are struggling with the documentation that was given to you with the purchase of your software, then I urge you to contact your dealer as there are other resources available through them. If you are a student that is using mastercam at your education facility and needs a tutorial for better learning or assignments, then the Mastercam dealer that sold the system to the education facility you are atttending, is also obliged to supply adequate learning material outside of the software manuals (in some cases - depending on the license agreement).

| I checked out the middle school Link posted above, I was wondering if there might be something that was a little more geared to machinists. I am really looking for the holy grail i guess, an online tutorial that starts at double clicking the icon to open the program. If you have any other links to an online tutorial for using mastercam, ide be very greatful. I was able to find a great siote for AutoCAD, if anyone needs to learn AutoCAD, this site made me a pro in a week: http://we-r-here.com/cad/tutorials/level_1/1-1.htm It begins with drawing a straight line, and ends with 3d modeling, and endering. easy to use etc. If there is anyone out there that has something like that for Mastercam, I would really appreciate it. Files, online site, or just type in the basics.. im looking for whatever help i can get ![]() thanks! Quammi |

| I do have a few free videos on the site www.cad2cam.blogspot.com Kookaburra suggests you should only go to your dealer. This is simply not true there are many people and companies not affilated with dealers that may be able to help sometimes have more knowledge in the real world applications of Mastercam than the dealers. If you would like custom video I know of a person who will also do them, they will charge for this. steve
