MasterCam and Ghosting !!!!!! | | Hello all!!!!
When I have to transform a toolpath in mastercam, especially when it's some sort of repetitive machining op I only want to draw one time, or repeating something around the 4th axis, like multiple slots. I use the transform function for toolpaths, and copy source operations and disable posting for the source operations. This of course causes the little ghost to appear in your ops manager. I am not having any problems with this, but our lead programmer asked me why I did this. When he transforms something, he dosn't disable the source operation. He asked me if there was a advantage to doing it this way. I really don't know. I use this method, because I was taught it in some online trainning I took on MC. I am somewhat the newbie at MC and could not answer his question. So I am asking you GURU'S out there, is there an advantage/disadvantage to using the copy source operations/disable posting option in the transform toolpaths option?
Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
