Newbie- Help. Engraving a single line, no close chain

HI to all!
I'ma newbie with this cadcam.
I have mastercamX4.
I have to run a straight line with one pass.
But when I try to engrave this, the software give me an error of open chain!!
If I engrave a circle or ellipse is all ok, but if is a single line always error of open chain!
There is a possibility to engrave a single line with single pass?
Even if I create a letters with MCX box font, the line are single and the software don't engrave a single line!
Can someone help me?

hi im no expert on this but from what i have read if you choose contour path i think and then set comp to none it will follow on the line and not comp for tool od etc.

Use "Window" when selecting contours

Not engrave but contour with not comp is the solution!
