    Media for steel

Just got myself a vibratory tumbler. I am a competent do it yourselfer who has conquered powdercoat, anodizing and plating. I have never used a tumbler for refinishing. I am working on some steel components and i used the green triagular media to cut most of the crud off of the steel components. Tumbled them for about 8 hrs all night long. Now i am looking for a media to finish them up. Not looking for polished finish but rather a smooth matte finish. Any ideas? Walnut,Corn, what works?
