I'm fast running out of nozzles for my Sandblaster!

Hello all, this is my first post - so be gentle:-)

I recently purchased a Sandblasting cabinet from E-Bay.

The blaster is working really well on the stainless steel Valve components we manufacture but i'm on the last of the four ceramic nozzles that were supplied with the cabinet and I'm finding it really hard to locate any replacements...or anywhere that sells any kind of ceramic sandblasting nozzles for that matter.

Does anyone on these boards have any idea where I should start looking? I've tried Google/Yahoo etc. to no avail and i'm beginning to get that panicky feeling.

The model number is - SBC420, and the make is NESTOR, although I have found the cabinet listed elsewhere on the net as produced by other manufacturers.

I am based in the Uk but am obviously willing to look abroad to get my nozzles so if any of you know of any companies that supply them, I would be greatly appreciative of your help.

You should be able to get them from any place that sells sandblasters. Call a local media supplier and ask.

You could also make your own out of steel depending on the media you are using

Hi:
The gun is a separately replaceable component. Source a company that sells sanblasting equipment, and purchase a different gun with the consumeables. Try to source it locally, so that you can get the parts when required.

Hi and thanks for your replys.

I've tried ordering the parts from my media supplier to no avail and have considered the possibility of manufacturing my own in the short term. We work in predominately 316 stainless and presumably this would do the trick, although any advice on a more suitable medium would be appreciated.

With regards to getting a new gun, this is the route we are strongly considering and I am currently looking into local availability.

Do a Google search for BEAD BLASTING NOZZLE instead of SAND BLASTING NOZZLE... lots of results

Try Travers tool on the web

I would consider replacing the ceramic nozzles with the longer lasting tungsten carbide nozzles or the even longer lasting boron carbide nozzle. Yes, they are more expensive on the front end, but they pay for themselves over the long term. I buy them locally from United Surface Preparation (800-322-1413) or http://www.unitedsurfprep.com

carbide is made up of tungsten nickel diferent bonding agents when we design something out of carbide we often change the mix so that we get a super duty grade that last extremly long the down side it would realy be expensive to design one from scratch but often the carbide stuff that you purchase parts etc is never as stong as it could be they want you to keep buying those nozzles big rog ceramics the same way

are these nozzles threaded exacly how do they conect i believe i could probaly have some designed they would also be expensive but being its a sand blaster we woulndt be holding a .00001 tolarnce .

My wife owns an industrial sand blasting company and does artistic glass sandblasting with the used media from the industrial side.

We use chromium slag / grit from nearby mines and this stuff is vicious!

We found that stainless nozzles last only a few hours. Find a shop that does wire EDM, buy some tungsten carbide rod, EDM the nozzle holes and fit these to any cheap Chinese gun. The nozzles we make this way last months before they need replacement

easier still, brazing several old inserts together, lining the screw holes up for the nozzle

now thats economising!
