| The good news - the lava rocks continue to be my media of choice. I have tried a few different varieties over the last 2 months and the economy/performance ratio of the LRM (lava rock media) just can not be beat. The bad news - I wore holes through the bottom of the paper thin Horrible Freight bowl. I don't think I am going to spend another dime on another cheap tumbler so I am beginning to look around for a deal on a used, larger industrial unit. I will report in as progress is made. Scott

| I built a vibration table with a neat way to adjust the amplitude of the vibrations. I put 2 weights clamped onto the rotating shaft so that they could be loosened and spun to different locations. This way, you could put them totally opposite each other so that they cancel out, or on the same side for maximum amplitude. It could be fine tuned anywhere in between. just a thought. |

| The urge to build one is strong, but I am currently in a discussion with a "local" guy that is selling a decent sized commercial unit. The jury is still out, but progress is being made. Now - if I get this thing, I am going to need some help with media selection..... Scott

| Well - it's a done deal. Rather than building, I purchased. It's an Advanced Finishing, 1.5 CuFt unit with completely adjustable amplitude. The roll and rotation of media can be altered independently. Luckily, it came with a manual. It appears to me to be a very nice commercial unit. The color doesn't match the rest of my stuff but it will do (for now). I will likely 'smurf' it later... I will post additional updates as I become more educated on using this thing. Until then, please feel free to offer up your suggestions and sources for media to deburr milled aluminum parts....and any advice! Scott
