Full length small diameter HR Rods Sandblasted

Hi to all from a relative newbie to this forum - An incredible amount of useful info in so many areas to digest. I am looking for any knowledge out there on how to clean full 20ft. lengths of 5/16 HR rounds before cutting into shorter lengths. I am currently cutting pieces, forming them and then manually sandblasting in a cabinet. Then pieces are assembled, welded, and painted. The other smaller parts of this assembly go through a vibratory tub, so the 5/16 HR round is the only really time consuming part to prep for paint.
I've thought of making a small maybe 3/4inch bore tube with the sandblast nozzle inserted at a rough perpendicular tangent with the hope that the bouncing abrasive would get the opposite side of the rod enough to clean it up without rotating. Then either manually pulling the parts through, or rigging a variable speed drive wheel to feed the material. I guess the rod could be spiraled through too, but thought maybe someone with more experience could point me in the best direction. Thanks for any response.

Might not be real easy....
anyways, if they are not too long after they are cut, a barrel or tube shaped rotary tumbler may work, not real fast, but depending on tube / barrel size quite a few can be done at one time..
for single pieces, I saw something at the local metal dealer a while back, a pipe guide just larger than the rod, and a drill mounted with a wire wheel next to it.. the guy just fed it in, and pulled it through while rotating it at the same time...

not real fancy ideas, but...?
