    Removing small dents in aluminum

    Hi,

We are a small machine shop.

For 1 of our customer, we need to sandblast (smallest size glass beads) the parts prior to sending them out to anodizing.

My problem is that the stock aluminum often comes with small surface dents while others and made from handling, machining, etc...

I currently remove these by hand sanding or using a small Makita orbital sander.

I am trying to find a better and quick solution.

The parts are in small quantities, from 1 to 10, but we do approx 500 different parts for this customer, all ranging in sizes so the method has to be applicable to all.

    Any suggestions... help !

    Thanks,

    Pharkas

Did you ever end up with a better resolution for this?

Ya, dont make dents. Quality control, hello?

Most would have to be hand finished out. Address the problems origin instead of the result of the problem.

Is the metal thin enough to be "shrunk" out using dry ice?
I was able to remove several dents in the wing of my aluminum airplane with just dry ice. It really worked neat.
