    Hi Jazz411 ,

the Earth bond to the machine is the earth connection to
the metal enclosure for your electronics ( G203v 's etc)
and the body of your CNC machine assuming thats also made of metal

Does there need to be both yellow and green cables or just one or the other.

    Thanks for your help.

Just one cable. The colour convention is yellow and green striped. If you only have single colour, I'd go with green.

    Hi Jazz411 ,

the wiring colours I've used are the new colours used in the UK since we harmonised with europe

adding the yellow stripe ensures people that are Red/Green colour blind can correctly
    identify the Earth wire

(the down side being black was neutral and is now one of three phases (live)
blue was another phase and is now neutral you can see the danger with a mix of old and new wiring !!!)

as in Autrailia , the old colours used for single phase supplies are:-
red is live , black is neutral and green is earth

the difference being the UK plug is fitted with a 1A to 13A fuse

for you I've found this :--

    240V powerplug datasheet
