Ey Up,
Has anybody ever milled using a cnc machine in flat or similar shape of resin blocks?
I'm talking about the same stuff you would use in fiber glassing applications so, either polyester resin or epoxy resins etc. As opposed to milling/ engraving into acrylic.
plastic sheets are expensive for the amount I need but as i have experience of using resins for mold applications, I could easily custom make the molds to the sizes i need. and save $$ doing it this way.
only question mark is if it would be suitable. Once the molds have been milled I will be pouring poly urethane into them with is another exothermic reaction happening there so lots of things to consider.
thanks
Fiberglas and most resins can be milled, but super hard on machines. The dust gets everywhere and is quite abrasive to moving parts. Might ask someone with a cnc router, those are usually made to handle dust better.
