How to modify post for homing?

In the post processor "home position" XYZ. Manual says post file must be modified for this option or it has no effect. Using standard Fanuc post. How is this written in the post so the machine homes (or goes to zero or whatever) at every tool change and at the program end? I dont know all the M and G codes yet. An example that I can add to my post would be very helpful.
Thanks, RonO

Lasershop are talking about Madcam here, or is the a Fanuc controller question? I am not sure I follow you.

Laser I just checked the post processer for the Fanuc and the last line in the post is a M30. That should take your machine home.

Go to

My computer
programs
madcam
postprocessers

the scroll down until you find the fanuc post. Open it and look at the last line and tell me what your's says.

Mike

ps I am leaving for a grandson's birthday party and will be gone a while, but I will check back this afternoon.

It does have M30 at the end. When the file is finished it stops spindle and thats that. I have to manually home. Is this a Mach3 setup thing? This is a new, almost finished Bridgeport mill Mach 3 conversion.

This is a simple pocketing file I just made setting the home position to all zero's in madcams post processor. I cant yet really read it to know what is going on at the end. It runs the program OK but does not go home. Also, I use Rhino 4.

The more I think about it, maybe a good way would be to edit the Mach3 M30 macro?? Dont know how to do that.. Also to go home at a tool change..

Edit.. there is no M30 macro.

M30 is the standard G-code for program end.
G28 is homing. I'm not using Mach3, but I'm pretty sure they use the same as the rest.

Lasershop in Mach3 you set you home location in CONFIG/HOMING LIMITS

There you put your home location

Then at the correct place near the end of code you have G28 Z0 Y0 X0

They will home in the order that they are written so you could swap the X & Y

I added "G28 Z0 Y0 X0" right after the M30 in the post and it ended up in my cut file. Thanks. Can I simply add it to the tool change section also? I need it to home at a tool change.
