Hello We are a university , architecture school, and have an extensive lab with 3 and 4 axis cnc. We use Mastercam currently and am looking for an easier program so more students can use the machines. I just got Madcam and I am trying to write a tutorial for them for beginners use of MadCam in Rhino. My first question is where should the object be built or placed in the Rhino Plane for machining. In Mastercam I put every part on the positive XYZ plan at 0,0,0 and then I can select the top of the box I placed my part into. can this be done in Madcam? Does this matter in Madcam? How or where do you place the bit for 0,0,0? Can you place the bit on the table for 0? How do you do this? Can it be placed wherever you want and if so where or in which step is this done. I have seen the videos online is there any basic info written out there? I am hoping this is the program we have been waiting for. Forgive my beginning questions I am trying to have this up and running as quickly as possible. Also do you know Which post processor works with the Techno brand router? Thanks Paulus Musters |

| Hello, If you already can comfortably place the part where it needs to be in Mastecam you will unlikely find Madcam to be as easy no matter how much you use it. Madcam is kind of quirky in it's relationship with Rhino as far as placing the part. Good Luck, Ddog |

| Hello, To place the part with toolpaths is as easy as placing any object in Rhino. The toolpath curves are generated by madCAM as Rhino curves and can be edited as any curve object in Rhino. Joakim |
