    Default Machine/Post/Tool Libraries Location Question

I just downloaded MADCAM demo to test and when I look in the Options the 'Machine Library', Post Processor and Tool Library directories are not pointing to any location.

A look for anything like these didn't turn up anything. I am clearly missing something simple here, but do not see it.

Can anyone point me to where I should look to get these pointing correctly?

(Or do I need to download these from somewhere?)

    Appreciate the assistance/guidance!!!

    Bruce

Default Re: Machine/Post/Tool Libraries Location Question

Solved this issue for my demo without reinstalling:

A Link to the background on this issue that I missed on my first search for a solution:

    https://en.industryarena.com/forum/n...-326826-3.html

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

My problem was that I did not select the "NEW" icon at the top and select a #-axis machine first. Jumping over to set the libraries below that wouldn't work.

I didn't de-install. I just clicked the "NEW" button I missed before, selected a basic 3-axis machine and saved it with the small "Save" button in the same icon row (DO NOT HIT "OK" AT THE BOTTOM).

After that the machine and tools library came visible, but the POSTPROCESSOR still was not. So I simply used Windows Explorer to view the text file in that directory and typed in the full file path:

    C:\ProgramData\5XCNC-X86\madCAM\5.0\Post Processors\Iso_G_Code.txt

then I clicked the little save button at the top and it did.

I think that hitting "OK" at the bottom here just doesn't save anything you have put in the file path entries.

Got to use the little save button above.

When I go back now and browse the machines and processors ... they all show up. Tools show up in the other windows.

    On to the learning part.
