    Default Problem saving defaults

I migrated my copy of Rhino and madcam to a new W7 Pro PC recently. I've noticed that when I try to load cutters they always default to the MM cutter library. And my post processor always defaults to ISO. My tool library is mostly inches and I use Mach3. Is there a trick to getting my paths to default to my preferences?

PS I notice that my Rhino options are also loading defaults. I checked my folder permissions and I have full control. I have the latest release of 5 installed.

    Any Thoughts?

    Thanks
    Jim

You need to define the path to your libraries. Do that in the options, under the "Machine" tab. Select the path to your files and it should default to that for future sessions.

    Thanks Dan,
I think I figured it out but it might be a workaround. I had tried the solution you suggested and it would not retain the paths. I then saved the selected paths to the 3 axis machine and it saved all the paths correctly. Now 3 axis is the only choice I see in the machine tab. Any thought on Rhino document properties defaults. I set them like in the MadCam help file and they don't stay. My toolpaths simlutor doesn't seem to draw the tool or holder.

I know this is an old thread but I am new to Madcam and am having the exact problem described by JimBar. Anyone have an answer? JimBar did you come up with a solution? Thanks.

What version of Madcam are you using?

There was a problem with MadCam not remembering the path to the config but it is fixed in the latest service release. Don't remember version number though.
