We've discussed the need for user defined start points, and Joakim has come up with something that we probably will see in the next service release. It should be soon.

The new service release is available now.

    madCAM News

Test the new start point functionality and see if it does what you need.

There is more to this then what you see on the blog. For example, when engraving, you can now enter a negative value for multiple passes, and the tool will machine under the curve. This means that the curve used for engraving can remain on the surface.

    Thanks,

    Dan

Can you explain how to set the starting point for a 2.5D curve? I've tried adding points and then selecting them with "Select start point" but that doesn't change where the profiling curve starts.

    Mauri,
I believe the service release link is being put in automatically by the forum software as a form of advertising.

Dan posted the link is correctly with the text "madCAM news"
