Why does MADCAM post say this?

    Code:

    Post Processor: Mach3_4-axis_mm.txt

Tool changes = not specified in post processor
Rapid traverses = not specified in postprocessor
Cut in material = 211 min
Total machining time = 3 hours and 31 min
It happens using EMC2-4axis post and the MACH3 4Axis post.

    I have not tried others.

    Suggestions any one?

The post is telling you exactly what the problem is. You have not added the necessary variables into your post to define these parameters. Check out the madCAM help files under "Post Processing > Creating and Editing".

If you post your post, I could take a look at it tomorrow. It would only take a minute or so to fix this.

    Ahh carrumba

    Ahh,

    *RAPID_FEED*
600 //mm per min is this correct.
    *END_SECTION*
    *TOOLCHANGE_TIME*
1 //is it min or sec and how do you say 20sec for example.
    *END_SECTION*
    Is this it Dan?

    Thanks for the direction.

Yes, that's it. The tool change time is in minutes if I recall correctly. So if your tool change takes 20 seconds, then that would be 1/3 of a minute so enter .33.
A 15 second tool change would be .25 etc.
