I was wondering if there is an easy way to edit the CAM settings without running the prosedure all over again. For instance if you like to just change the feed rate speed, or if you would like to make a cut 2 mm deeper? |

I normally forget to increase the speed when I'm cutting soft materials. Then I just edit the G-code by search and replace. Do you mean that you would like to cut the model 2 mm deeper all over? Why don't you change your Z-zero on the machine? If you want to do it in Rhino you have to regenerate the toolpath.

I just found out how to edit the speed on the g-codes, that's brilliant! I'm thinking more of just changing the dept of one cutting line. Kind of hard to edit that on the g-codes if your not very familiar with the codes....and I'm not But It's not a big problem, it's most common to have to change the speed, which I have found out how to edit on the g-codes Thanks svenakela

Hello Odd Egeland, madCAM saves the search path to the saved cutter with each toolpath. By default, the feed and speed is used from the saved cutters. You can also change the feed and speed temporarily when post processing. There are several ways to change the depth of a toolpath and you can even move the toolpath directly in Rhino before post processing. It is also possible to control the height and depth of a 3D toopath by using the clipping planes. Joakim Last edited by JOM; 03-10-2010 at 01:54 PM.

Joakim wrote a very handy feature, you can move the toolpath. I was thinking of moving surfaces within the model, then you have to regenerate (obviously) but if you want to move the toolpath i Z-direction - or any other direction - just move it. I do it pretty often.
