Position Title: Machinist/Machine Tool Operator, Site Operations Office
Period of Performance: 1/19/09 through 6/19/09
Minimum Requirements:

Specializes in operating manual Mills (Bridgeport) and Engine Lathes, Saws, Grinders and most machine shop tools.

Ability to machine a wide variety of metals and plastics for use in making prototype laboratory apparatus as well as some short run production items.

Ability to work with simple drawings as well as detailed drawings.

Requires extensive knowledge of machine-shop and tool room practices.

Minimum 8years experience in a machine shop environment.

Ability to follow directions and be an effective and adaptable learner and communicator, with demonstrated team skills.

Ability to safely lift 50 pounds on a daily basis.

Special attention to all aspects of safety is a priority; and must maintain a safe operating environment in accordance with NREL’s safety policies and procedures.

Preferred:
Familiar with Bridgeport EZ-Trak and EZ-Vision.

Familiar with GTAW Welding.

Familiar with Sheetmetal equipment and processes

Familiar with plating processes.
