    copper threading

    i am trying to machine a 24x2 thread on copper bars ,i have varied the speed from 700 rpm to 1600 rpm and have the passes down to .05mm with no success, the thread keeps getting chewed up ,has anyone any ideas please ?
    tried again today revs at 430 with 13 passes ran all day thanks to universalfab for his offer
