    Default Ways

I've been thinking a lot about linear motion in general and it seems that ways are still the best and most accurate system. OK, then that is what I'll use. There is not much out there specific to the design of ways. Drag, binding, all sorts of things for a compulsive over-thinker to worry about.

    A) Has anybody seen any articles specific to this, and where?

    B) if using 2 rails, would you use to sliders or emulate 1?

The first would seem to provide more accuracy by adding additional surface. The second eliminates one gib, may be less inclined to bind and would have less friction.

Assuming a centered ball-screw to drive it, does anyone have a guess which would be better, why and can anyone cite where to look it up? They have only been in use for a hundred years or so, I think that is why there isn't much information on them. "Cut 60 degree groove..." Just a metal dovetail. Little things can matter in CNC.

    Anybody have a clue?
