    what are the numbers for that are stamped into my Seco milling inserts?

    Usually the inserts are made in a batch ( dots mainly appear on milling tips )
    - so the dots are used only for placing the matching edges in the correct orientation from the seating edges
    ( enables each insert to have the same effect on each cut, plus the cutting face tip height will also be constant ..... unless the cutter body is a little shagged out )

    If you are chasing good tip life, finish etc.... it is good practice to avoid mixing tips from different packets

    If it’s an etched number such as M25 it probably refers to the grade
