Where did you zero the Z at on the machine? And where is your part Z 0 in CAM? It looks like at the minimum Z is at +0.1877 (G1 Z0.1877 F30)
hi there
I' m newbie and trying hard needing help
I'm using artcam and cnc-ucb firmwares on my 6040 router
I was able to generate g-code but when i'm running the program I think the z-safe feature in making the toolpath has something to do in "air cutting" it won't cut the wood.
heres the few line of the g code
(safe z 0.125)
(Material Size) (X=2.860, Y=4.450, Z=0.243)
(Tool Number:1) (0.063 inches dia. ball nose)

is the G0Z0.2685 has something to do in "Air cutting" or the Z-safe?
also I' m attaching the "State" of the program as shown by CNC-USB firmware
thanks will appreciate any help

at the machine part zero is at top of the material
at the cam i already forgot where i set it
i do another one and ty to screen shot the toolpath settings and post it here
thanks
i made a tool offset of -0.2439 whic is the thickness of material
and it cut the material and observe the z safe distance goes as specified.
i think ia hve to review and focus the setting of material in the cam
i' m still little bit confuse on this subject - machine zero, zero part, tool offset
I guess i need more reading
btw i'm using artcam and cnc-usb firmware
