Default Plasma 5 volts to set off relay to arc.

So I have my cnc plasma cutter set up and I have the break out board pin 1 firing out 5 volts to a relay switch for the plasma cutter.
The problem is it wont switch the relay, I guess not enough amps. 5 volts shows on the meter when it should and the plasma cutter fires off when I connect it directly out of the 5 volt usb port.
But after it goes through the breakout board, not enough amps.
Wondering if it will fire if I put more amps through the breakout board like a seperate power supply. Having a hard time trying to find a small enough relay switch to work with such little power.
Any help would be great THanks!

Without knowing the details but if you need a low current operating device to pick up a relay from 5v then the Fet 2n7000 should do it easily.
Search here for 2n7000 should bring up some results.
It is possible your BOB has a opto isolator on the output which will not pick up a relay due to insufficient current capability.

Thanks I think I got it, they have ones that have to be powered seperatly then hook up the breakout board low power signal to it.
