Just look in the Mach3 ports and pins screen to see what's connected to which pins.
Hello all,
I bought Chinese 6040 4axis router that I'm about to control with a new Masso All-in-one controller. Finding which parallel port pins are used for what has been an interesting adventure. Now it comes time to control the 'nowandforever' vfd and I can't find which pins are used to control the spindle. I've got the codes to divert the VFD to software control but I'm looking now for the pin numbers on the parallel port of the Chinese 'black box' that Mach and other software use to control the spindle. Can anyone help me please?
Thanks
Ryadia

You must have a different version of Mach3 manual than me. 25 pins numbered from 1 to 25 but only about half of them are used and not one numbered as the pins Mach3 uses to access the spindle. Do you by any chance have a page number of their manual where this is shown? I spent 3 hours looking all over the 'net before asking here.
You mentioned Mach, but now I realize that weren't using Mach3.
There is no standard, so you'll need to figure out which wires control which functions.

Thanks Rus
I can't actually assign stuff willy-nilly it has to conform to the standard used for controlling cnc machine. I have however found the information I need in the 'nowandforever' manual. Everything else I needed was provided by the Masso controller manufacturer.
Thanks for replying,

Hey Gerry,
Without having Mach3 installed on a computer, I can only see what the manual said.
No problems now. I found a diagram on the 'net that conforms exactly to the pins X,Y,Z and A use so I'm hoping this will also be accurate for the spindle and limit switches.
Thanks for helping,
