    Default 1985 Fadal VMC40 and Mastercam 6.0

I'm a complete newby to owning a cnc.
I have a disc of MC6.0 and was wondering if due to the age of both the cnc and the software
if they would play nice together and if there is specific cables or adapters or serial port computers are
needed to get some basic cad going?
any and all help would be welcome.
My win 8 computer with 800 gig free on the hard drive and 8 gig of ram when I try to install it says "not enough ram".
    Suggestions?

    Thanks
    Josh

    Crawler,
What gave you that error message, when you tried to install MasterCam 6.0? I don't know how much RAM is required for that old version, but maybe that is listed on the MC site under requirements.

That's about the same version MCam and Fadal at my first tool shop. The combination is just fine.

The MC Version 6 most likely won't run on a modern computer. I believe it is 16bit. See if you can find an XP, 2000. You might be able to use it then.

My IT guy came in and did some magic where he told the operating system software that it was installing into win 98. and it installed.

Q on the jog mode of the controller, on "x" mode..when you turn the wheel clockwise, should it move the table right or left?
Is the phasing wrong if it is opposite?

    Thanks again
    Josh
