trimming thermo plastics
Hi,
Anyone got tool recommendations for trimming thermoplastics? I'm after a disc saw to side cut in 3axis. I use diamond grit discs for fiber reinforced thermoset plastics and multi flute carbide endmills but I'm afraid the diamond disc will generate too much heat and melt my parts.... any tips?
Also I'm trying to convince my boss to buy a CNC mill for getting into producing some metal components... mainly from 6 and 7000 series alu... possibly some steel.
Can anyone recommend a good machine to look at for someone cutting their teeth with metalwork? I'm thinking with an envelope of around a half meter cubed.
Cheers
