Hello, I have made my own 3-axis engraving machine from scratch and have everything running well, but I need help with the Z-axis setup. I have only used the ports/pins and the homing/limits to set the direction and homing. I want to set z-axis home to the up position but the co-ordinates are working in reverse. How do I setup the z-axis ?. Cheers, Brett. |

| Do you want to reverse the direction it's moving? If so, check "Reverse" in the Homing/Limits page.

| Hi Gerry, Zeroing the z-axis to the bottom switch would seem the way to go, but when I have a tool in the spindle it will hit the machine table before the bottom limit switch !. My problem is more about how the z-axis needs to be setup more than how to reverse settings. Cheers, Brett. |

| Typically you home the Z to the top of it's travel, and zero it to the surface of the part before running your programs. You might want to look into making an Auto Zero device. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36099
