ACT Engraving Machine

This machine comes with Mach 3 and it's DOR is running in MM. Is there any way to switch that to inch with out much messing around?

This machine has a simplified OEM screenset

so all the familiar Mach3 commands aren't in the usual places. But you can easily switch to inches by going to the MDI box and typing G20 (hit enter). The units will all switch to inches.

Aside from that, how are you liking that machine?

I know I can run a inch program, it's just that all the machine cords are in mm.
So when I am setting up my stock or my soft limits it's all in mm. Where I would rather it be in inch.

This isn't a program, it's just a single command

[I realize that. As soon as you enter that G20 in the MDI panel, your DRO numbers will switch from mm to inches. Then you can do all the setup stuff in inches, before running your program. Try it, and if you have any problems let me know.]

Yeah that worked. Thank you very much. Once I MDI the G20 then the DOR read in inch for the jog and setting the work offset.

Still testing with the machine, it looks like a solid design...

The one thing that I found is the travels of the machine seems short. by an inch or two in X and Y

I will do more testing and let you know what I think .
