My table runs fine with Mach2, installed Mach3 but nothing happens, updated my PC to a 1Ghz, 512mg Ram. Installed Mach3 on new Pc and nothing happens, reverted to Mach2 and runs fine. Mach3 does not run on both PC's.what could be the problem? |

| Your settings. Make sure that all the port address is correct, and all the pins are assigned to port1, and not port 0.

| Dear AngelT, I found this problem same as you. I install Mach2,everything is OK. If I install Mach3,I set all functions on port and pin, Motor tuning correctly. Some PC is OK/Some is not OK. Here's the summary of installation.( CPU should be more than 1.3 Ghz). 1) Run Mach as your version. 2) Reboot PC 3) Place license to location of mach, Normally: C:\Mach2 or C:\Mach3 4) Open program Mach-->check the folder of help --> about--> Have to show the name of buyer,( Not show Demo version) 5) Set configuration--> set up port and pin and motor tuning. 5) Check at control panel--->Performance and maintenance--->System-->hardware--->Device manager. Pls have a look on the driver of Mach.If it shows unknown driver,it can not run. If it shows mach2 or mach3 driver, everthing is smooth and ready to run. Mongkol |

| My CNC Router and Mach3 dont like each other...My new Pc is a dual core with 3.40ghz, 1 gb ram...have followed the instructions to configure it right. My DRO's change number but the motors don't...Do not have an estop but I disabled with a low signal...changed all ports number to 1...Don't want to go back to Mah2...Desesperado.....!!!!! P.D...Installed Mach2 back and everything works...!!!! Last edited by AngelT; 07-06-2008 at 12:17 PM. |

Love this forum, somewhere there is one with the same problem that I have.Mach3 does not run with my table but it is fine with Mach2. My table is a Solsylva 27x39 dual screwlead, HobbyCNC board with 205 motors. No home or limit switches and NO estop. this one I will intall someday for security reasons. I have disabled the estop and checked the low signal. Hit apply and OK and when going back to Imput signal table, the "estop" is enabled....!!!!somehow I think that my problem has to do with it. Anyone out there with my same setup will appreciate if you could send me a copy of their setup. As always, thanks for any imput. |

| Is there an error message flashing? If so what does it say? I think you need the Estop enabled, and set to Active Low, even if you don't have one.

| If you try to jog, do the DRO's work?

| If the DRO's are working, than Mach is working. You need to measure the voltage on your direction pins while jogging. Should be 5V in one direction, 0V in the other. If the voltage is not changing, you're port address is wrong or some ports and pin settings are wrong.

| I have seen this with DRO's changing and no movement jogging. Traced it charge pump disabling the drives. Initially disabling charge pump function (in your hardware) to get it going is easiest. If the charge pump signal is not being directed to the appropriate pin the drivers won't move. This requires setting a jumper at BOB level, or something. See your BOB documentation. I am not familiar with your system, but sounds like a charge pump issue. The charge pump is meant to keep the external hardware alive, so that if the PC dies or stops, the charge pump (not being pumped now) disables the drives.
