Red face NOISY MOTORS: HELP WITH SETTINGS NEEDED

I damaged my laptop and last week - a year plus later - got an hp P4 EVO desktop.

After I completed the installtion of Mach3, I found that the motors moved the router very slowly and made a lot of noise - like untuned guitar strings quickly and randomly plucked. Thankfully, no smoke.

I got fluid low-noise movement while I used a laptop. I cannot remember what motor settings I used then and just cannot immediately wrap my head around important information in the config settings.

Who can please give me information about what to do?

I need help seriously; I have lost the motivation to go to the office and success at this is at the heart of my exit strategy.

    Deep regards.

Run mach3Drivertest.exe in the mach3 folder and see if you get a flat line.

NOISY MOTORS: HELP WITH SETTINGS NEEDED

    Gerry,

    I thank you.

    I already ran DriverTest successfully.

Could I be having suboptimally tuned motor settings? I am stumped!

It is a K2-2514 with stepper motors. A lovely machine.

    Get your old file.

Can you still retrieve you old .XML file for the Mach3 setup that you originally had in the laptop?
Naturally you made a backup of it and now realize the importance.
Sounds like the step and direction pins allocated for each axis are not correct. Depending on the BOB there are many different possibilities of which pins to use, so you must compare the BOB documentation with the Mach3 pins & ports configuration.

    SOLVED.

    I have been a ninny!

The great people at K2 already included a customized profile for my use. I played around with the machine yesterday and once I came upon the Mach Loader and saw my name I remembered what to do - load my profile.

    The machine worked perfectly well.

I thank you for your time and attention.

    Deep regards.

    Ibrahim.
