| You can use any editor you want to open and edit the code, but it will still work the same way. You can't edit the code inside mach3, it has to be an external editor. Why? By using an external editor, it saved Art the time of having to basically rewrite a NotePad type editor inside of Mach3. Time that was better spent elsewhere.

| It's still very annoying... And ASCII-editor is not very complex to do... I like Fanuc style editing than "play with mouse and keyboard"-editing. It's not very handy when you are making work with machine, not hobbying. I have to put some feedback to Artsoft... |

| That's very true, actually you can get the source code from code sites for free, then tweak it. I think you would still want the editor to promt the user to "Save" the edited file, before the file can be ran, just as a safety precaution. Either way, you'll still have to leave the Controls main screen, really thats all your doing when you leave Mach3 & open notepad... So it's not any diff. than opening another Form from within Mach3 (maybe that's why Art never bothered with it). Wouldn't the edited file be saved in the same place on the hardrive, both ways? .
