| You have to do two things. First your motor driver circuit board has to be set to actually do microstepping. Look at the documantation for the board. I have a Xylotex board and it is set to 8. The you have to calculate the number of steps mach3 has to send out to move your CNC 1 unit. The mach3 manual has a section to explain this. You have to know the pitch of your screws, the ratios of the pulleys between the motor and screw, you may not have any. And finally you have to know what the microstepping is set at. I have .125" pitch, 16 tooth pulley and and 24 tooth pulley ( I think), 8 microsteps ann a motor that has 200 steps per revolution. from memory I have abouut 30720 steps set up in mach3 |

| As long as you're using the 32bit version of Win7 Mach3 is said to work IF you apply the register patch (originally developed for Vista) that's available on the Machsupport download page. If you're on a 64bit version then it won't work with the LPT-port driver. I think it'll work if you're using an external motion controller (Smoothstepper, DSPMC, Galil, KFlop etc) but I don't know for sure. /Henrik. |

| Hello vannuys, Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibility.) http://www.microsoft.com/windows/com...s/default.aspx There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software". There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx Thanks again, John M.
