Are you sure the laptop is capable of running Mach3?
I first had my main computer setup running mach 3. My computer using xp pro. Now I put my cnc in the garage and bought a laptop for it using a wireless router. My laptop is running 2000 professional. Now none of my exact settings will work with the cnc ???
Are you sure the laptop is capable of running Mach3?

The laptop is a dell 1ghz and 256mb of ram. Running 2000 pro. Why wouldnt it be capable of running mach 3?
Check the BIOS setting of the parallel port.

Run the drivertest.exe in the Mach3 folder. Make sure it gives good results. Lots of laptops won't run well, for a variety of reasons. Power management being one reason, 3.3V parallel ports being another.

ok I dont have a problem switching out computers, I just thought being mobile would be the way to go out in my garage. I didnt realize problems like that existed. Let me swap out computers and I will let you guys know.
I can still get movement and everything but the settings I put such as my inputs to make motors turn in correct direction are messed up and only wants to go in one direction
