| In the motor tuning section, the lower leftmost field "Steps per" , meaning steps per unit, a unit being a 1mm or 1inch depending on your preferences. You have to calculate how many steps your stepper must turn to advance 1 unit. Just run your calculations taking in account if its full/half/micro step and the gear ratio. And check the documentation since there are an example given. Konstantin. P.S. Additionally go to "Settings Alt6" screen and press the "Steps per unit" button that lies just above the Reset button, then choose the axis you want to test and input 1 inch for example. Use some calipers to measure the advancement of the axis and if it matches then follow the dialogs accordingly, if it does not matches then input the distance the axis moved in the field and Mach3 will compute the "Steps per inch" on its own. P.P.S Sorry, but my instructions are for Mach3. I hopefully you can find a way for Mach2. |
