I have a taig mill that I am running with a 4 axis Xylotex Stepper Motor Driver. I have this working in Mach 2 and have been successful in making parts. My problem is Mach 2 is ignoring any commands with tool comp enabled. I also have problems with lines that may have "I" "J" for computing a radius. maybe I am not programming this correctly? I have been programming a Haas Mini Mill for a few years now and I have no problems with the Haas like I am having here. I have taken known working programs written for the Haas and loaded them into my Mach 2 and I have the same results as above. Any thoughts or help here? I hear Mach 3 is much better than two so I downloaded 3 and I cannot get my steppers to move. I have checked the pin / port settings and I believe them to be correct. The steppers will lock when the controller is powered up but that is all I can get it to do. Any Ideas or suggestions? |

| Mach3 has better comp than Mach2. Post an example of your problem (with code) and I'll try to help. For your Mach3 problem, make sure each pin is not assigned to Port 0. That's a common problem.

Gerry, Thanks for the reply. I have checked my pin settings and I have the following: Port #1 Enabled address 0x378 ( i verified this address to be correct) Kernel Speed 25000 HZ Motor Outputs: X Enabled Step Pin 2 Dir Pin 3 step port 1 dir port 1 Y Enabled Step Pin 4 Dir Pin 5 Step Port 1 Dir Port 1 Z Enabled Step Pin 6 Dir Pin 7 Step Port 1 Dir Port 1 Input Signals Nothing is enabled as I do not have any limit switches or relays on this mill. E-Stop is enabled Port #1 Pin #10 Active Low This does turn off and on when clicking on its button My Computer: windows XP Vr 2002 Service Pack 2 AMD Athlon 1.49 GHZ 256 Mb Ram I did run the driver test in Mach 3 and it tells me that the driver test was successful but I get no line showing the waveform. Could this be my problem as to why my steppers will not respond? I have verified all the signal step pin, dir pin, step port, dir port settings to be configured the same as I have in mach 2 If I am not successful in getting Mach 3 to run I will post one of my programs that I am having trouble with cutter comp. Thanks for the help! Scott ( CuttingTools) |

| Try reinstalling it. Download the latest version.
